How do you do?

You look so vibrant perched on the pier?

With your colorful red mohawk feathered down your spine.

You look so cool, so full of life.

With your wings stretched out saying, “look at me!”

“Don’t get too close, cuz I just might spring!”

You exuberate high levels of mysterious-esteem.

But don’t worry Mr. Pelican, your secrets safe with me.

And I won’t hurt you, if you don’t hurt me.

Thanks for stopping for the picture and for the chance to meet.

I’ll look for you again next time I visit the beach.
